Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo is Mexico's first female president.

I have so much respect for Mexico. I admire how the people held on to much of their ancestral culture despite the ravages of colonialism. No place is perfect, and many issues remain, but Mexico is beautiful. The traditions, people, and food are extraordinary.

It was heart-warming to see Mexico send firefighters to California to help with the recent wildfires despite how some Americans view their country. This act of humanity was done under the leadership of the first female president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. This level of humanity spoke highly of her leadership.

President Sheinbaum was the former mayor of Mexico City, a metropolis of over 21 million residents. Although I’m not familiar with her political views, the fact that a woman—regardless of race, religion, ethnic origin, or any other classification— has become the president of her country expands the possibilities for women around the world.

President Sheinbaum is leading the Mexican nation with a population of over 130 million. About 2 million Americans live in Mexico. Additionally, she is of Jewish descent. Her ascent to the presidency is a reason for celebration for women worldwide because whenever any woman advances, she advances all women anywhere.

Her election was a big leap forward for women.  As I say in my book, Answers From Within—A Spiritual Guide for Finding Answers to Work Life Issues, on Page 105:

It is always funny to see how we behave when we see the “first” of a particular group of humans accomplish something.

We act as though it was a complete impossibility—a huge surprise. Nothing is impossible for GEFS (God, Energy, Force, Spirit), but some of us have lived in this thinking for so long that it makes the news. It is news that the first woman (Black, Hispanic, Asian, etc., human did or became something new and amazing. If we know GEFS (God, Energy, Force, Spirit) and understand its nature, we will not be surprised by its capacity to create anything.

There will always be the “first” of some group, and then a breakthrough because once we see the first, there is nothing to sustain the false theory. The illusions must fail and fall. I hope men are also pleased to see the growing opportunities for their daughters, sisters, mothers, cousins, aunts, friends, and others as we strive to bring balance to our world.

Thank you, President Sheinbaum, for your efforts to create new possibilities for us all women. We support you and celebrate Women’s History Month with you!
